I should not be writing this. I am no writer and am not the one to record this story, but I am the only one who will tell it so there you go. No one will read this because the people in charge do not want this story told. And that should tell you where this story is going.
I am 37 now as I write this, I was born shortly after JFK was shot. The summer I turned 20, instead of a middy cruise I was sent to the Cern. I was somewhat of a prodigy and showed more than bit of talent with higher level math and was more than exceptional with physics. The accident that happened never happened. I ceased to exist legally some months later and almost completely a year or so later.
We were attempting to generate a Higgs-Bosun particle. Yes, the God particle, the one that is believed to contain an entire universe. There are many who thought and some that still think the generation of a Higgs is only slightly less dangerous than intentionally forming a black hole (which we did late that same year). At the time of the first atomic bomb test there were a large number of well respected scientists who thought the initiation of an intentional thermonuclear explosion could cause a cascading event that would cook off the planets atmosphere. Really. And yet the Nazi and Japanese threat was too end game to not push the button. And then the Soviet threat was enough to put the same risk into the background when we pushed the button on the first hydrogen bomb. The risk from the Higgs was 10EEGoogle bigger than the turning the Earth into a sun. But at the same time it really wasn't. We had no idea what the first two events would cause. For the Higgs we had a small idea, the Big Bang. We also had theoretical models showing us that Higgs were produced naturally, so they were there somewhere. And the universe was still here so this shouldn't be too bad.
And it wasn't. We just killed 328 people in the Cern and a nearby town. We also destroyed the Cern and the town. Both were rebuilt in under 3 month. It cost more to disappear the 328 people and settle things with the people who knew and loved them. From what I learned right before my bosses tried killing me it only cost $3.4 Billion to rebuild, disappear, and bribe. And only 33 other people needed to cease to exist. Small potatoes.
We created a Higgs and the Higgs caused the formation of a small quantum warp bubble. Yep just like Star Trek. And I saw it all, and there is no way I could have seen it. I did and this is what I saw, hopefully one day I will be able to tell you how I saw it at all.
